When Mappedin first started developing our products, we wanted to create a visual way for people to explore indoor space that was interactive, easy-to-use, and helped them to truly discover a space. We were creating custom solutions to solve alternative problems that our clients needed. Every application was unique to the issues presented to us, and this is how we grew the business.

Over time, we started noticing that across industries, our customers were experiencing some of the same issues. They wanted a solution that would not only provide indoor maps, but one that could fit seamlessly into their brand.

After all, they had put an enormous amount of time, effort, and money into developing their brand identity. Any extension of that would need to have the same look and feel to ensure that their customer experience was consistent from top to bottom.

The Mappedin product line was developed in a direction that emphasized a one-stop shop to streamline indoor maps and the customer experience. With the help of our customers, we arrived at Mappedin Web.

Why implement wayfinding?

With features that center around an interactive 3D map with a 2D back-up, Smart Search, and analytics to provide a brand with a full picture of their customers’ experience; the technical aspect of Mappedin Web has been developed to provide a responsive indoor mapping solution that fits with any website and is optimized for both mobile and desktop.

Smart Search creates more accurate search results using predictive text, which reduces both the amount of keystrokes and the amount of time it takes a user to find what they are looking for. Additionally, machine learning recognizes patterns as users search and creates more accurate results.

Blue dot positioning technology enables accurate location in mobile. Without this, you would have to pick a store or other location as a starting point. Without Blue dot, the indoor map would not orient to where a customer is standing or which direction they are trying to go. Blue dot, or turn-by-turn directions, allows for accurate positioning, ensuring a smooth experience and cutting down on additional actions.

How does it help?

As we have continued to develop Mappedin Web, our focus has been on adding features requested by our clients. With that said, the overall focus for the product and for Mappedin as a whole has always been ease of use. We want to create out-of-the-box solutions for easy implementation as well as a custom application, ensuring that any client can place Mappedin Web in their existing website and have it fit in effortlessly.

Mappedin’s out-of-the-box products feature customization options, as we want the product to feel like an extension of our customers' brands. It also allows a company to have indoor maps immediately available within their existing infrastructure.

We emphasize discoverability with all of our products - being able to visualize what a store or space looks like, directing customers there, or going straight to search to find what they are looking for. However, the bottom line is that implementing one of our products gives you information about your customers, and information is power.

Having metrics that give insight into traffic volume as well as the specifics of search volume can be used to analyze sales. You can discover where your customers are searching, what they are searching for, and also gather data on missed searches to help you find out what your customers would like to see at your property.

Usability

At the end of the day, the two aspects we want every client to take away when they interact with us and Mappedin’s products are quality and brand customizability. Our maps are performant and visually appealing; the indoor maps within them is very clear and easy to understand, and is above all else, intuitive.

We are continually working to improve our products from every angle, and from every step in the process. For instance, improving our user experience by developing features like Smart Labels, a new way to visualize the labels for every polygon within a map or venue. We are also working on expanding the amount of customization available, in order to ensure that your brand is highlighted. We focus on easy integration.

We incorporate feedback from our clients in every vertical to ensure that our products provide what people need - indoor maps that work. As we continue to develop our products, that fact will never change.
